Community Service Drive
In addition to celebrating Homecoming, MSUBA is asking all alumni and friends to participate in our community service drive. We will be collecting travel-sized hygiene products to create care packages for members of the homeless community in Ingham County.
Coming home is not just about reconnecting with one another — it’s also about giving back. By contributing to the hygiene drive, you’ll help us extend the spirit of Homecoming to those in need and strengthen our impact in the community we represent. Donations can be dropped off during the MSUBA Homecoming Tailgate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Friday Night Party – Scholarship Fundraiser
What is the Friday Night Party?
The Friday Night Party is our scholarship fundraiser, commemorating 45 years of MSUBA. In true MSUBA tradition, we celebrate and “party with a purpose,” continuing a legacy that began in 1980 when our first Homecoming event raised $1,000 by passing a pumpkin around the room!
What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes entry, entertainment, and catered food served from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. A portion of proceeds directly funds scholarships.
Can I support if I can’t attend?
Yes! If you’re unable to attend, we encourage you to donate directly to support MSUBA scholarships.
Tailgate
What can I expect at the MSUBA Tailgate?
Our annual tailgate is the space to enjoy good music, good company, reconnect with old friends, and build new relationships. This year’s event will feature the sounds of DJ Butcher, DJ Kutz, and Bruce Bailey. Catered food will be served in the Alumni Tent from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (until it runs out).
When does the tailgate end?
The tailgate will end at 5:30 p.m. on Homecoming Day.
When do ticket sales close?
Ticket sales will close at 3:00 p.m. on October 11. Anyone who has pre-purchased tickets will be admitted upon arrival, but no new tickets will be sold after 3:00 p.m.
Why did ticket prices increase this year?
MSUBA’s mission is to fund scholarships for current and future Spartans. Rising event costs (space, security, fencing, catering, rentals, etc.) have made it necessary to adjust pricing. A portion of each ticket supports scholarships, while the remainder covers event expenses.
How will registration and entry work?
To assist with crowd control, ensure the safety of all attendees, and provide seamless entry — and based on a recommendation from membership — we are re-implementing the advance registration pick-up process. This will help streamline access.
-
Ticket purchasers can pick up tickets at the Doubletree Hotel for both the Friday Night Party and Saturday Tailgate.
-
Additional locations will be provided soon to pick up Saturday Tailgate wristbands.
-
Tentative Registration Pick-Up Times at the Doubletree Hotel (subject to change; finalized times and locations will be clearly communicated).
Scholarships & Mission
Why is there a focus on scholarships this year?
This Homecoming marks 45 years of MSUBA, and our mission remains centered on providing scholarships for Spartans. Every event during Homecoming Weekend is designed to support this mission. Your participation ensures we can continue to fund opportunities for current and future students.
